About Barrow and District Garden Club...

Flower and Vegetable Shows have been held in Barrow for well over a hundred years, the first in 1899. The present garden club grew out of the Flower Show Committee and started in 1966 after meetings at Brooms Barn and visits to the Chelsea Flower Show

The objective of the Club is to promote the good cultivation of gardens and allotments by:
Holding meetings for lectures, discussions and demonstrations
      Holding Shows and Competitions
Making outings to places of horticultural interest
Assisting members in the purchase of horticultural goods and materials

The Clubis affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), affiliation number 10563168.

We meet in Barrow Village Hall on the second Friday of each month at 7.30pm.

The Summer Flower Show is held in Barrow Village Hall on the second Saturday in July and the Autumn Flower Show is held on the first Saturday in October. See the Show page for entry details and schedule

In June we take advantage of the long summer evenings and our Friday meeting takes the form of a visit to a local garden, nursery or other place of horticultural interest.
